We recently took to Pinterest to come up with a cool kit to stash in your locker, desk, book bag or purse to give you a fresh smile anytime, anywhere! We can not stress enough how important it is to keep your smile cavity free and clean especially while in treatment so, it has become our mission to provide you with all the tips and tricks to help you succeed!
This is one of our favorites! It comes from another blogger, Allison, which you can check out here:
-Floss (Don't forget your floss threader)
-Advil or Tylenol
With these items at hand you are bound for success!
After lunch take 5 minutes to hit the school restrooms to give a brush up and be sure to floss if you have time. Did you know flossing helps teeth move better? When teeth have a clean surface they can easily glide across one another instead of getting stuck on plaque and food hanging around.
An interproximal brush will do the trick if you are crunched on time but need to get a quick clean before class.
Wax is a personal preference, although carrying some in your kit will save you if you ever have a sore or pokey spot. Just ball up a small piece between your fingers, dry the area you are applying it to and press it on! Don't forget to have someone call the office if this trick doesn't make you feel better or if you notice something is broken.
Advil and Tylenol are great for post appointment soreness, however please consult your student handbook or school nurse to be sure you can carry these. Some schools would prefer if ONLY the school nurse administers these items. If your school has this rule ask your parent or guardian to send in a bottle of Tylenol or Advil with a note and you will be all set!
If you have any at school cleaning tips be sure to post in our comments! We would love to hear from you! Have a great weekend!
